Dear Dick and Ellen and Kate and Jenny:

\J

We all had a very pleasant weekend in Petrolia, in spite of
the assortment of disturbing incidents. Liz is feeling much better
but has decided to take the rest of the week off from work, because
she doesn't want to try driving with one arm...yet. (I guess that she
is sort of glad about having a good excuse for taking sick leave, as
she was feeling quite overworked anyway).

Ron and I have just about finished off the last of the
Matzos. The 10 lbs. we bought was just about enough. Keep that
number in mind for next year. At the rate Petrolia is going, you'll
probably be having to pick and choose your seders next year.

For me, the weekend was pleasant because for the first time
in several months I was able to forget about Vicarm for a couple of
nights and relax a bit. Unfortunately, today I was back at the
"company", attending to the seemingly never ending problems and
details which keep me anxious and busy too much of the time. I'm
formally taking a leave of absence from Stanford for the next 3
months to hopefully straighten out the business situation.

Enclosed is the check for $6,000 I promised you, but forgot
to deliver. As I have no immediate need for the money, use it as
long as you need to. I strongly approve of the house, and feel you
made a good choice. Actually, I feel for Barry and Kathy as I find
it hard to believe that even 40 acres in Idaho can be better than 3/4
acre in Petrolia. But thats their choice.

I hope Mom is doing well. I know that when we left there was
still some lingering tension from the morning encounter. I feel
responsible for most of the hard feelings, for it was I who very
briefly mentioned the silver dollar situation to Mom, not realizing
that it would snowball. I regret saying anything. It was none of my
business, and on second thought, I now feel that was a good reward
choice. I apologize, and hope that you've all forgotten the scenes.

I've made a reservation for Mom on Sun, April 6, 11:20 AM-
flight 17, and will plan on meeting her at the San Francisco Airport
when she arrives. \.
